The Studio on the
Drive is one of Vancouver's
oldest private acting studios, originally founded in the mid 1990's on
Commercial Drive and currently running in our downtown location on the
top floor of the beautiful Seymour Building. We also offer
monthly workshops in Los Angeles - see workshops page. The studio offers a comprehensive lineup of classes, including scene study as well as on-camera auditioning, voice work and improvisation. Our coaches are working actors who bring over sixy cumulative years of experience in the business and we generously share our knowledge base, both in class and out. Guest workshop instructors have included many of the city's busiest directors, casting directors, agents and other industry professionals. Actors at the school range in experience from beginners to seasoned veterans tackling everything from TV scripts to Tennessee Williams. Our classes are run in a nurturing, safe environment which inspires actors to reach their full potential. We keep class sizes small and prices ethical, while challenging actors to discover new depths to their talent. We have an open audit policy in order for actors and industry members to sit in and watch our classes free of charge at any time. The Studio on the Drive is a proud supporter of the local film and theatre industries and many projects have been fostered and produced with our assistance. The studio is also home to a resident theatre company, Mitch and Murray Productions. |
