Acting Workout with Aaron CravenThursday nights @ 6:30 p.m.
This class is a mixture of Scene Study and On-Camera Audition
technique. Actors are worked with specifically according to their needs
and their career progression. This class does not stick to a format,
but rather touches on elements of prepared scene work as well as the
art of auditioning. Actors are given the opportunity to perform
material from both Film/T.V and Stage, with the emphasis on tailoring
the work for the camera. Aaron encourages actors to empower themselves
and “own” spirited choices in their work. Improv warm ups are also done
every class, making the class a workout for serious actors only.

Since
graduating from The University of British Columbia in the late 90's,
Aaron has had a variety of experience on both stage and screen. He has
worked professionally in both Vancouver and Los Angeles, with Film/TV
credits including
Facing Kate, Fringe, Stargate
Atlantis, Life Unexpected, Kyle XY, The L Word, The Unit, Smallville,
Tru Calling, The Dead Zone, The 4400, Supernatural and
The Day the Earth Stood Still, as well as several national commercials. On stage, Aaron has performed a number of roles, including the lead role in
Gaslight at the Hudson Theatre in Los Angeles as well as the Vancouver Premiere of Neil Labute's
Fat Pig. He has also directed critically acclaimed productions of
Glengarry GlenRoss and
Closer.
"Coachings with Aaron are always a great workout that empower me to
carry a lot of confidence into the audition room. He helps to
define and refine strong choices that are right for the character, the
piece as a whole and me as an individual...I highly recommend the
experience."
- Allison Hossack ( Series Regular on "Hope Island", 'Falcon Beach, "Kingdom Hospital" )
"Aaron understands the process an actor needs in rehearsals and
bringing out a full performance from a piece of text. He knows
how to work out the mental moves. Time well spent."
-Veena Sood ("Battlestar Galactica", "Touch of Pink", "The Big Year" )
"It was amazing to experience the process you take them through in
order to achieve the results that make for the best possible audition
on the first take. The feedback I've gotten has all been positive and a
number of clients look forward to working with you again in the
future”. (
